FIRST DAY(S) OF SCHOOL.....

Tyson is a pro.

With 2 years of preschool and 1 year of kindergarten down.....first grade has been a peice of cake for this boy. He was excited and confident enough that on the first day, I drove up in the carpool lane and he jumped out running to his class line. He didn't even hesitate or look back. In fact ( and I quote him as he was getting out of the car) "Mom, I'm just going to wear my backpack like this so I look cool". He then put one strap over his shoulder and took off. Does a 6 year old even know what cool is?? I'm 3o something and don't think I have figured that out yet

(isn't he dreamy??)

As for this girl...... she started preschool today. She was standing next to my bed by 6:30 am with her school shirt on and her backpack packed with a cheese stick and stickers. To say she was excited is an understatement.

She wanted lots of pictures taken of her in her school shirt, just like Tyson. If only she would have kept this smile while I dropped her off in the classroom.

But, in pure Jaisa style......she grabbed onto my pants and screamed as they pryed her off and held her on their lap. They told me she was in good hands and politely asked me to leave ( they were all business). I rushed home, thinking they were going to call me within minutes......and guess what? 2 hours into her session and I haven't recieved a phone call. This preschool thing might just work.

(at least she looked cute and innocent)

SHAWNI.......

So, this picture pretty much sums up what my little 19 month old does all day. She laughs hysterically as she runs around the house (usually with one of the kids chasing her). Well...............it finally happened.
Not just her first set of piggy tails. Look closely at her tooth.

Part of it is missing :(

She was running on the tile in the kitchen and fell face first - breaking off part of her tooth.

Is it wrong of me to want to fix it - ASAP?

Nope - not at all.

Todd said that he would fix it as soon as she is old enough to sit still.

Ya - I don't think so. I'm a mom and she is my daughter - who until a couple days ago had THE cutest smile I have ever seen.

So.....if my plans go according to how I have planned them out (which they never do) then within the next couple of weeks, we will make a quick little trip to daddy's office where I undoubtedly will have to restrain my baby long enough for Todd to fix it- whatever that may be.....

Until then......my little girl's snaggle-tooth smile with have to do. :)

(it's still cute though, isn't it?)

We had a wonderful visit from Todd's parents this past week. The last time the kids saw them was Christmas, but it didn't take long for them to warm up to Grandma and Grandpa. In fact, the girls spent a lot of time sitting on Grandpa's lap and reading stories with him. Tyson had a great time just showing off with his football skills.............something he is getting better at every day ( the showing off, more than the football).

VISIT FROM GRANDMA......

We were lucky enough to have my mom come and stay with us for 5 days! We accomplished a lot while she was here. She helped me make valances for the girl's rooms, duvet covers and pillows for the house. We went out to dinner... a lot, several Sonic runs, took her to our favorite mall (which happens to only be 10 minutes away), did lots of shopping, and used our zoo passes (for only the 2nd time this season). (Can you tell how much the girls love her? They woke up every morning searching the house to find her and cuddle.)
